Our Commitment to Accessibility
Overview
At Saint Heaven, we want everyone to be able to browse, shop, and enjoy our website. We are committed to making our online store accessible to people of all abilities, including those who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, and other tools.
What We're Working Towards
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level. These guidelines are widely recognised as the benchmark for web accessibility and are referenced by the Australian Disability Discrimination Act 1992.
Our ongoing efforts include:
- Keyboard navigation support across the entire site, including checkout.
- Semantic HTML with proper heading hierarchy, landmarks, and ARIA attributes where needed.
- Sufficient colour contrast ratios for text and interactive elements (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text).
- A high contrast mode, available via the toggle in the footer, for users who prefer stronger visual distinction.
- Skip navigation link so keyboard users can jump straight to the main content.
- Descriptive alt text on product images.
- Focus indicators on all interactive elements.
- Accessible forms with proper labels, error messages linked to inputs, and clear validation feedback.
- Respect for your system preferences, including reduced motion settings.
Known Limitations
Accessibility is an ongoing process. While we regularly review and improve our site, some areas may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA. We are actively working to identify and resolve any remaining barriers.
Third-Party Content
Our site integrates with third-party services such as Stripe for payment processing. While we choose providers who take accessibility seriously, we cannot guarantee full compliance of content or interfaces provided by external services.
Feedback
If you experience any difficulty using our website or have suggestions for how we can improve accessibility, we genuinely want to hear from you. Please reach out via our contact page or email us at hello@saintheaven.com.au.
When contacting us, it helps if you can describe the issue you encountered, the page or feature involved, and the assistive technology you were using (if any). We will do our best to respond promptly and address the issue.
Australian Law
The Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth) requires that goods and services provided to the public, including websites, are accessible to people with disabilities. We take this obligation seriously and are committed to continuous improvement.
